BUSINESS ANALYST


Gain a thorough understanding of the organization's business processes that are relevant to the intended project goals. Document processes and work instructions with diagrams and flowcharts to help refine the problem the project is trying to solve. Determine how actual work differs from established policy, procedures, and protocols. Must be able to prioritize and work on multiple projects at the same time and re-evaluate priorities and deadlines.
General Job Functions:
 
  • Determine cost of operations by validating established standards and collecting operational data.
  • Guide cost analysis process by helping to establish policies and procedures; explaining processes and techniques; and recommending actions.
  • Improve financial performance by analyzing results; reporting financial KPIs, monitoring variances; identifying trends; and recommending actions to management.
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Assist in improving data integrity by analysis and correction.
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analysis; studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
  • Increase department productivity by aiding in the development of automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
  • Contribute to team efforts month end close by performing close processes as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
 
  • Work with the management team to identify cost reduction projects.
  • Participate in projects to reduce the cost associated with steel, wood, paint, and other consumable products.
  • Report regularly to the management team on the progress associated with cost reduction projects.
  • Maintain detailed records associated with cost reduction projects.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:
 
  • Equivalent to a four-year college degree
  • Plus, three years related experience and/or training
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
